If you want to show off your own skills on the ice, you can do so at the Olympic Open Skate event February 24! The Allen Community Ice Rink is hosting a special Olympics-themed open skate day. You can take part in a number of fun, interesting challenges, including a special relay race! Attendees at this event are encouraged to bring seasonings, condiments, and salad dressings to donate to the Allen Community Outreach Program. Check Out The Sam Bass Day Celebration February 24

On Saturday, February 24, the Allen Heritage Guild will be hosting a special celebration and event at the Allen Depot. This event is a commemoration of Sam Bass Day, as well as Railroad History Day. A speaker will be on hand to teach visitors about Sam Bass, and his infamous 1878 train robbery that took place in Allen. In addition, you can enjoy a live re-enactment of the robbery, and take part in several interactive activities. This event is a great way to shine a spotlight on Allen’s history, and help educate on the history of the railroad in the area, and the role it played in our development.
