Check Out The Sam Bass Day Celebration February 24

On Saturday, February 24, the Allen Heritage Guild will be hosting a special celebration and event at the Allen Depot. This event is a commemoration of Sam Bass Day, as well as Railroad History Day. A speaker will be on hand to teach visitors about Sam Bass, and his infamous 1878 train robbery that took place in Allen. In addition, you can enjoy a live re-enactment of the robbery, and take part in several interactive activities. This event is a great way to shine a spotlight on Allen’s history, and help educate on the history of the railroad in the area, and the role it played in our development.
