Quiz: Responding To Dental Damage
What do you do when you suffer a tooth injury? If the problem threatens your overall health, you may need to contact 911. If there is damage that needs prompt attention, you should reach out to your dentist for emergency dental care. Your dentist can do their best to treat you on the day of the incident. For dental damage that is not an emergency, the approach you need to take can depend on the type of damage, and if it affects how your tooth functions. (more…)

Teaching Your Kids Smart Oral Health Habits
Good oral health is important even in our earliest years. Your child should begin seeing your dentist early – their first visit should happen by around their second birthday. These early appointments operate as a means of observing a child’s developing oral structures, but they can also serve as learning opportunities. Your dentist can review proper brushing and flossing techniques so that your child understands how to care for their teeth at home. With the help of dental sealants, your dentist can even put an extra layer of defense between your child and tooth decay. (more…)
Covering Dental Flaws With Porcelain Veneers
How do you feel about your smile? It is important to make sure your teeth stay healthy, but you have every right to want to make sure your smile looks good, too. The veneers can cover up problems with tooth color, can hide minor dental damage, and can even fix the appearance of misshapen teeth. To learn more, and to find out if you are a good candidate for veneers, you should speak with your dentist. (more…)
Quiz: Seeking Cavity Treatment From Your Dentist
So you think you have a cavity – what comes next? You will not be able to take care of it on your own, as your body is not capable of naturally reversing the spread of decay. The restorative dental work you need will depend on the cavity itself. When you go longer without treatment, the cavity has time to grow. If decay enters your pulp and infects the tooth’s living tissue, a root canal can be called for. However, if you treat a cavity quickly, you can ensure that a more conservative approach is all that is needed to bring you back to good oral health. (more…)

Putting A Stop To A Persistent Toothache
A persistent pain in your tooth is more than just irritating, it can be a warning that you have a real dental problem. That discomfort could stem from something (for example, tooth decay) that is affecting the nerves in your tooth. If this is the case, you may need a root canal treatment to make the discomfort stop, as well as to protect the tooth from more serious harm. Serious dental issues require dental treatment. A cavity will not go away on its own; an infection has to be completely removed by your dentist to save your tooth. (more…)
