On Saturday, February 25, you and your family can learn about important pieces of Allen’s town history during the Allen Railroad History And Sam Bass Day event. Part of the event will be dedicated to discussing Allen’s founding by the Houston And Texas Central Railroad in 1874, and the importance of the railroads to the town. Time will also be dedicated to discussing legendary outlaw Sam Bass. That discussion will include a re-enactment of Bass’ infamous railroad robbery, which took place in Allen, performed by students at Allen High School. In addition to these discussions, participants can also take part in a number of fun activities, which will include a costume contest.

The event will take place on Saturday, February 25, and will run from 11 am until 2 pm.
Where:
The Allen Railroad History And Sam Bass Day event will be held at the Allen Heritage Center, which is located at 100 E Main St, Allen, TX 75013.
Cost:
The event is free to join. That being said, there will be donations accepted to support the Allen Heritage Guild.
Activities Include:
Lessons about Allen’s founding, and the outlaw Sam Bass. Several activities and interactive demonstrations will also be open to visitors.
